Our Organic Garlic Sampler for fall planting contains three or more of the following varieties:

Alberta Rose is a gorgeous glazed purple striped variety with a long-lasting, strong flavor, but not very hot, and leaves no after taste. Yields about 10-15 cloves per bulb.

Originating from South Korea, Asian Tempest is a fiery hardneck variety and the most popular asiatic cultivar Also known as Seoul Sister, it has an explosive lively bite when eaten raw, but when cooked it develops a sweet and tangy flavor akin to sweet pepper.

Bogatyr is a marbled purple stripe and a rarity among garlic growers as seed supplies has declined over past years. Each bulb has 6 to 10 beautiful purplish, brown cloves wrapped with purple and white striped paper.

From the Republic of Georgia in the former USSR, Chesnok Red is a standard purple stripe and can become a rather large garlic under excellent growing conditions.

Georgian Crystal is buttery when roasted and has one of the richest flavors around. This garlic does well in hot summer climates and has beautiful, large cloves that average 4-5 per bulb.

Korean Purple has generally large bulbs with fat cloves. The bulb wrappers are firm, tight and vivid with broad, bold purple stripes merging into areas of solid purple.

Italian Softneck is a gorgeous white softneck with big cloves. It comes out very clean and stores nicely too.

Purple Glazer is one of the few glazed purple stripes available and they're fabulous garlics that grow well in most climates -- although iffy in the warmest winter areas.
